NCSoft has annnounced that the open Beta for the Mac version of City of Heroes has now begun.
In a letter to the COH community, Matt 'Positron' Miller revealed that the Open Beta has now kicked off. The Mac version testing has taken a little longer than expected and the game's full release has now been pushed back until January 2009. Matt added:
"The Mac version of City of Heroes is now in Open Beta. This means that the Mac clients can only access the Training Room, andwe have lifted all the restrictions for PC users who can also access tothe Training Room. You will start to see a lot of new faces as more andmore Mac players come in for their first taste of City of Heroes.
Ifyou are one of those new faces, I would like to say “welcome!” I wasvery excited when our partner TransGaming showed us what they could doto get City of Heroes running on the Mac, and immediately wanted to getthis into the hands of Mac players as soon as possible. Of course, wealso want to make sure we have worked out as many of the kinks and bugsin the Mac client as possible, and unfortunately that has caused us topush the full release of the Mac version of City of Heroes to January,2009. We are very confident that by that time we will be able to offeryou the best in super-powered massively multiplayer gaming for the Mac."
Further information on the Mac Beta test can be found on the CoH website.
