The Australian Office of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC) has cleared Monolith's F.E.A.R 2: Project Origin for release.
Reversing an earlier ruling, the OFLC has now awarded the game a MA 15+ rating due to "Strong violence, blood and gore. Moderate coarse language".
According to Games On Net, the game was resubmitted without the developer making any changes whatsoever.
"We're obviously extremely pleased with the result from the Classification Review Board, it's a great result for Warner Bros and fans of the franchise," said a Warner Bros. spokesperson.
"We always believed in the merits of the game as an MA15+ title, and we went in and argued the game on its merits. We're really really pleased that they came up with the decision that they did."
F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin is due for release on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on 13 February 2009.
