PC copies of the retail version of Prince of Persia are apparently being shipped without any DRM.
Community developer, Chris Easton said that complaints from a lot of people about DRM “is what forces people to pirate games but as PoP PC has no DRM we’ll see how truthful people actually are,” on the PoP forum.
Although retail versions of the game will ship without DRM, Easton goes on to say that digitally distributed copies will come with DRM.
We’ve dropped Easton an email to clarify a few things, but if the DRM debacle continues, especially after the failures of things like Spore and even Assassin’s Creed, then it’s really no surprise that DRM is being phased out.
If you don’t really care about any of this, but want to know about Prince of Persia, why not check out our review here? It's not the PC version, but it's the new game all the same.
