Bioware and LucasArts released the first video documentary showing their new MMO.

The video released this afternoon shows the game for the first time with very early gameplay footage.

The video features brief comments from LucasArts VP of Publishing Mary Bihr and Bioware's Dr Greg Zeschuk. Creative Director/Lead Designer James Ohlen and Principal Lead Writer Daniel Erickson talk about storytelling while Art Director Jeff Dobson discusses the "aesthetic appeal of stylised realism".

The video shows early pre-production segments which includes lightsabre battles between commentary and it does give a glimpse of the combat, but only a glimpse. The video is also peppered with screenshots.

The constant theme is how "excited" Bioware are about the title and the extra layer they wish to add to the MMO genre, the storyline. As far as I was aware there are plenty of MMOs with good storylines and lore so let's hope they are not relying on that to carry this game through.
