Game music composer Tommy Tallarico has confirmed he has signed up to work on the soundtrack for the upcoming Japanese release of Sonic Unleashed.
In an interview with IncGamers, Tallarico confirmed he had been contacted by Sega Japan to create music for the action adventure game, known as Sonic World Adventure in Japan, due for release this holiday season.
"I've always loved the Sonic franchise," he said ,"and just a couple of months ago Sega Japan contacted me to write three songs for the new Sonic game."
"It was kind of an honour to be contacted by those folks."
He went on to say that making music for a Sonic game would be another dream fulfilled.
"A lot of my dreams have come true - I worked on the Pacman franchise, I worked on the bond franchise. These were all things I loved when I was growing up. The one I haven't done yet is Mario."
Industry legend Tallarico has composed music for over 250 games, earning him a place in the Guiness World Records Gamers Edition 2008. He is also the brains behind the enormously successful Video Games Live.
To find out how he became involved in Video Games Live, the music he is most proud of and which game tracks he hates, stay tuned for our interview later in the week.
