More Wii Holiday Shortage Talk

Nintendo has hinted that consumers may have trouble getting hold of a Wii this Christmas.

Nintendo America president, Reggie Fils-Aime, told the LA Times that although production has been increased, there's still no guarantee of finding a Wii this holiday season.

"Nintendo has continually raised the production levels of the Wii hardware," he said. "We're now producing 2.4 million units a month worldwide. Last year, we made 1.6 million a month."

"We're flowing products into stores on a very regular basis," he added. "Once you see it on the shelf, you ought to buy it. While we're bringing 50% higher level of supply into the market this holiday, we don't know if the demand will be even higher than that."

Last week, UK retailer GAME told IncGamers that it does not anticipate any Wii stock shortage in Britain this Christmas.
