Army of Two Goes To Hollywood

Army of Two is the latest videogame to be transformed into a Hollywood movie.

Variety are reporting that EA has licensed the rights to Universal Studios and will see Scott Z. Burns, director of The Bourne Ultimatum, take the title and script it for the screen.

EA will also be a producer and will work alongside Scott Stuber, previously part of the Halo movie team, to maintain its intellectual direction.

This isn’t the first we’ve seen of EA taking their games to the big screen, last month Mass Effect was licensed to producer Avi Arad and The Sims will be taken up by the Fox Film Studios.

EA wants to find directors that aren’t huge game fanatics so they don’t remake the games on the big screen.  Probably a good thing if you’ve played Army of Two, not the most compelling story line we feel.
