Star Wars: The Old Republic Revealed

The Lucas Arts press event in San Francisco finally revealed the title all gamers knew was coming. Most surprisingly was actual news of the title.

The game will be titled Star Wars: The Old Republic, tossing aside the "Knights of" and not including online in the title.

The details revealed make it seem like a standard run of the mill MMO waiting to cash in on WoW's unique revenue stream. However, the biggest draw is Bioware is co-developing it. Bioware has shown with Mass Effect, Neverwinter Nights, Baldurs Gate, and of course Kinghts of the Old Republic that they have the ability to craft effective personal stories within a huge living breathing world. The talent Bioware has seems perfectly suited to blending an excellent single player experience within an MMO world which even WoW struggles to do.
