Max Payne's Hollywood debut was less than stellar according to various new sites.
One Roger Moore, reviewer from the Orlando Sentinel, voiced his opinion on the bad translation of videogames to film, with reference to the new Max Payne film.
“As good as a couple of its action beats are, Max still suffers from the heartlessness that makes games emotionally inferior to movies. Nobody ever shed a tear over a video-game character’s death,” Moore stated.
We reckon this is pretty much on par with the unfounded and unsupported Cooper Lawrence attack on the sex scene in Mass Effect 20 hours into the game. Unleashing the gamers' wrath, her book was inundated with one-star ratings on Amazon forcing her to make a formal apology.
What is different here, however, is the fact that Moore has watched the film. If his statement is true and justified, then he can expect an easy ride. If his opinion doesn't meet with that of the fanbase, and he's sensationalising the story, he can expect a backlash.

For those of us that play games regularly, we understand the potential they have to deliver a powerful emotional experience.
