The New York Police Department has condemned Volition’s new iteration of highly anticipated Saints Row 2.
Speaking to Daily News of New York, Patrick Lynch NYPD union boss, said that the game was a “horrible and violent videogame” which desensitised “young people to violence while encouraging depravity, immorality while glorifying criminal behaviour…”
Saints Row 2 is by no means the first game to get the flack from authorities and “responsible” government bodies and organisations, the GTA franchise has had its fair share of bad publicity over the years too.
If one thing has been proved over the years, it’s that bad publicity for games such as these do nothing but fuel game sales.
Bad publicity is good publicity. Not when you’re a police force though.
