Halo 3 Recon Unveiled

Microsoft has unveiled a new standalone expansion for Halo 3, titled Halo 3 Recon.

The game was revealed during Microsoft's keynote speech at the Tokyo Game Show and will feature "hours of new campaign and multiplayer gameplay".

Halo 3 Recon introduces a new protaganist, a special forces ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper), as he experiences the "terrifying events" on Earth leading up to Master Chief's return to New Mombasa in Halo 3.

The single player campaign will apparently focus more on stealth than previous Halo games and the multiplayer content will include new maps and Forge options.

Halo 3 Recon will be released as a standalone expansion on DVD for the Xbox 360 in Fall 2009.
