Arabic MMO Name Revealed

News of an Arabic MMO has been making its rounds on the gaming industries respective blogs, news sites and news syndication sites.  We've also reported on the story and told you we'd keep you informed with any updates.

Well, we have one.  We know the game is Rappelz.  We wanted to know how it'll fit into the Middle Eastern region.  Fadi Mujahid of Game Power 7, the Dubai based publisher, answered a few of our questions.

In the interview, Mujahid talks about the Middle East and the video game following it enjoys as well as discussing the challenges of bringing a new entertainment media into a traditionally conservative culture.

When asked whether or not it would be intrusive, Mujahid said  that most of the youth are present in internet cafes anyway, "the major activity practiced at Internet cafes is playing multiplayer games of all genres: FPS, Sports, Strategy, and little MMO."

Mujahid went on to say that most people in the Middle East may probably never have heard of MMOs, "many gamers in the region have no idea that there is a genre of games where you “live” at, play and interact with thousands of others, and improve your “game life” as you play your way through."

For more information read our full interview with Fadi Mujahid from Game Power 7.
