New StarTrek Online Details

The latest edition of 'Ask Cryptic' reveals further details of the Startrek themed MMORPG which is being developed by Cryptic Studios.

Cryptic Studios have been keeping a low profile since Star Trek Online wasannounced but they have broken silence to reveal further plans for the game.

According to the 'Ask Cryptic' developmentblog, players will be able to choose ship classes such  Cruisers,Escorts and Science Vessels used by the Federation. Cryptic also promise a highlevel of character customisation, a feature players have come to expect from aCryptic game following the success of the City of Heroes character creationoptions.

If you want to play the Star Trek classic 3D chess then that will be addedto the game also according to Cryptic but it may be added after the game hasbeen released.

PvP zones have already been discussed in their previous update but Cryptichave confirmed that if you can PvP in space in a zone you'll be able to PvP onthe ground in that zone also.

Hopefully we'll hear more from the Cryptic team in the not too distantfuture.
