Geoff Johns Writes DC Universe Online

SOE and DC have revealed the writer behind the upcoming MMORPG based on the DC comic universe.

SOE and DC's superhero MMORPG DC Universe Online will be given a background story by Geoff Johns, the man responsible for such classics as Green Lantern, Action Comics and Justice Society of America. Artist Jim Lee will also be working with Geoff Johns on the project.

"Having a writer of Geoff'scaliber brings even more authenticity to the DC Universe Online, andshould provide fans with an exciting new medium for his storytellingskills," said John Blakely, SOE-Austin's VP of Development. "Togetherwith Jim Lee, who is our executive creative director for the game, weare tapping into the very best talent from the comic book industry."

"Taking comic books into theonline space presents an exciting and unique opportunity for me as awriter," said Johns. "I'm looking forward to creating a thrilling storythat explains why the DC Universe has suddenly been populated withmillions of new heroes and villains in a way that will engage players."

The game is due for release on the PC and PS3.
