Blizzard has decided to change their stance on character realm transfers by allowing PvE characters to transfer to PvP realms in World of Warcraft.
Ever since World of Warcraft implemented character transfers across realms, some members of the WoW community have requested the ability to move PvE characters to PvP servers. Blizzard had always stated that this was not going to happen but today they made a U-turn on their transfer policy and the PvE to PvP system has been implemented. The statement from Blizzard reads:
"As the state of the game has matured substantiallysince the inception of Paid Character Transfers, we will now beallowing PvE-to-PvP transfers on a full-time basis to provide playerswith more mobility and freedom to easily play with their friends. Keep in mind that all of the other standard cooldowns and restrictionswill continue to apply; we’re just opening the option to transfercharacters on Normal realms to Player-vs.-Player realms."
The decision to make this change has come as a bit of a surprise as levelling a character on a PvE server, which is easier, then moving it to a harder PvP server had been frowned upon by Blizzard and parts of the WoW communty. Whether you agree or not the decision has been made and it will put some extra cash in the Blizzard bank, the transfer costs $25.00.
