PES Champions League Deal Confirmed

Konami has announced the UEFA Champions League competition will feature in Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) 2009.

The deal has allowed Konami to use all elements of the competition to create an exclusive Champions League game mode in PES 2009.

“The Pro Evolution Soccer series is synonymous with football being played at the highest level, which makes it perfect for hosting the best club football competition in the world”, said a UEFA spokesperson. “We are delighted that PES 2009 will feature the UEFA Champions League and look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with Konami.”

Konami also confirmed today that PES 2009 will feature fully licensed teams from Manchester United and Liverpool. The publisher has secured a special deal with the latter, with PES 2009 being declared the "Official Football Game of Liverpool FC". This means PES 2009 will be advertised on the clubs LED hoardings and will appear regularly in 'LFC Magazine' and the 'This is Anfield ' matchday programme.

PES 2009 is due for release on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on 17 October, with PSP, PS2 and Wii versions to follow.
