Following the false start to the Warhammer Online Open Beta launch in Europe, which was supposed to run smoothly yesterday, Mythic's Marc Jacobs reponds on the debacle.
Launching an MMORPG Beta is no easy task but it seemed to go well for Mythic in the US but failed miserably in Europe when the test was supposed to get underway. After much delay and abuse from the community, the Warhammer Online EU Open Beta did finally start.
In his Blog, Mark Jacobs firmly places blame at the feet of EU operator GOA for the failure to launch on time stating "GOA messed up, they apologized and they are working hard to do better. This is a good start but not an excuse for them. Neither their CEO norI am defending what happened yesterday. It was an ugly day."
Despite being a Beta test, the WAR community were not happy with the way the EU OPen Beta was handled which will hopefully not be an indication on how the full game will be run by GOA in Europe.
Mythic, while not surpised by the criticism from the EU community, were dissapointed at the level of abuse. Such is the way of the Interweb.
