The success of Sins Of A Solar Empire has been partly due to its low production cost, and partly due to the fact that it can be played on lower spec machines.
Speaking to Gamasutra, Brad Wardell CEO of Stardock, said that "Sins of a Solar Empire was explicitly designed to work on a wide variety ä continuEd "it s exnlaciely"deswill run on a four-year-old video card, and it looks great."
But is it worth compromising graphics?
This targeting strategy has certainly contributed to the success of units sold, even though it’s at the expense of pretty visuals, such as turrets on spaceships not moving.
And Wardell would now, as a ‘core’ PC game supporter isn’t surprised going on to say that constantly spec-ing up machines damages the PC market.
