2K Sports' Ice Hiockey title NHL 09 has now gone gold according to the publisher.

The next installment in the popular sporting series is now complete and is ready for release on the Wii, 360, PS2 and PS3.

Developed by Visual Concepts, the new game includes new features such as improved controls, expanded superstar moves, friendly Zamboni competitions, arevamped fighting engine, custom Stanley Cup celebrations, andsix-on-six online capability.

To try it out, a demo is now available on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace  and the PLAYSTATION Network. and features this past season’s Stanley Cup Final in a brief three minute period as either thePittsburgh Penguins or Detroit Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.

The game will be released on the 9th of September.
