The director and writer of Final Fantasy XIII has stated the Xbox 360 version will not be released in Japan.
Motomu Toriyama told Japanese mag Dengeki Playstation in no uncertain terms that the game would "absolutely not" be released in Japan. He also expressed "surprise" at Xbox Taiwan's recent announcement (and subsequent u-turn) of the game's release in Asia.
Final Fantasy XIII is due for release on PS3 and Xbox 360 (at least in Europe) in 2009.
