Empire Interactive has announced it will be releasing Cyrpon and Strategy First's Jagged Alliance for the DS.

The game will feature a mix of role-playing elements and turn-based tactical combat as the players strive to liberate the island of Metavira.

"Jagged Alliance provides an exciting blend of RPG and turn based action, which has already won fans and accolades worldwide", said Empire Interactive's James Spice. "The time is right to bring its frenetic battles to Nintendo DS and allow a brand new audience the experience the exhilarating game play."

Jagged Alliance is due for release on the Nintendo DS in 2009.
