FIFA '09 To Feature Weekly Player Updates

EA Sports has announced FIFA '09 will feature a premium online service called Adidas Live Season.

The service will provide a weekly update that alters player form in order to mirror their real-life performance. Adidas Live Season will be available for Barclay’s Premier League, La Liga BBVA, Ligue 1, Bundesliga, Serie A and Mexican Primera Division on the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game.

"This is an ambitious and completely unique feature that has never been attempted before for football videogames," said EA's Andrew Wilson. "The game will feel and play differently each week. With adidas LiveSeason if Ronaldinho has a great match on the weekend you’ll feel thedifference when you pick up the controller as his in-game attributesincrease."

The service will not be free, although EA is offering gamers access to one league of their choice as part of a free trial that will run until the end of the 2008/2009 season.

A demo of FIFA '09 will be available to donwload from Xbox Live and Playstation Network on 11 September.
