Tecmo Co. Ltd. today announced that its president, Yoshimi Yasuda is to step down.
According to Kotaku, the Tecmo Board of Directors has accepted Yasuda's resignation which was apparently due to "personal reasons".
Yasuda is a key figure in the Itagaki vs. Tecmo lawsuit, in which Dead or Alive 4 designer, Tomonubu Itagaki, is claiming for unpaid wages. Itagaki claimed he was promised a "special incentive" wage by Tecmo, something that Yasuda insists was never agreed with the board. However, the court has heard audio evidence containing comments allegedly made by Yasuda that contradict his claim.
Yasuda is also embroiled in a separate lawsuit in which he is accused of falsifying the contracts of Tecmo employees and withholding overtime pay.
