Sony Talks Music Games

Sony has confirmed it is working to ensure all PS3 music instruments will feature a "basic level of gameplay compatibility".

The announcement was made yesterday by Sony Computer Entertainment America's (SCEA) Michael Shorrock on the US Playstation Blog. Shorrock believes music game peripherals should all work (at least on on a basic level) with rival software. For example he confirmed that peripherals for the upcoming Rock Band 2, Rock Revolution and Guitar Hero: World Tour would be compatible with all three games.

Shorrock also confirmed that SCEA is working on compatibility between the existing Rock Band and Guitar Hero games on the market and that it hopes "to have an announcement on that shortly"
