Celebrity Sports Showdown Coming to Wii

EA has revealed a new IP for the Wii called Celebrity Sports Showdown under the new EA SPORTS Freestyle brand.

The Wii lends itself perfectly to sports titles and EA are wanting a slice of the action with Celebrity Sports Showdown. As the title suggests, this new game will see celebrities going head to head in numerous sporting activities, twelve in total. Gamers will get to play as their favourite celebs, assuming they are included of course, and attempt to become the ultimate celebrity athlete.

Celebrity Sports ShowdownIt's apparent the game has been created by the EA US team due to the celebrity listing, half of which we have never heard of here at IncGamers, so the game may have limited appeal in other regions. Celebs that have been confirmed include Fergie, Avril Lavigne,  LeAnn Rimes, Nelly Furtado and Sugar Ray Leonard to name a few we are familiar with.

Celebs or not, the game does feature a decent list of sports such as Beach Volleyball, Inner-Tubing,  Wild Water Canoeing,  Hurdle Derby, Slalom Showdown, Cliff Hangers, Smash Badminton, Rapid Fire Archery, Joust Duel, Curling, Arena Dodgeball and  Air Racers.

Look out for the game on the Wii this winter.
