Fallout 3 Reclassified In Australia

Australias's Office Of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC) has reclassified Bethesda's Fallout 3, clearing it for release.

The game will now be assigned the highest age rating for games in Australia, MA-15, advising consumers that it features strong violence, drug references and coarse language.

As we reported last month, The OFLC originally refused to give Fallout 3 a rating on the basis that the game's 'chems' system was judged to advocate drug use. According to Gamespot, an OFLC spokesperson has confirmed an amended version of the game was resubmitted which tones down the "reward and incentive" system for drug use.

Fallout 3 is not the first game to fall foul of the OFLC in Australia. Recently Rockstar was forced to amend Grand Theft Auto IV to secure a release and Dark Sector was refused a rating.

We recently got a chance to see how Fallout 3 was coming along, check out our preview here.
