Godfather II Confirmed

EA and Paramount Digital have confirmed that we will see a new instalment of the Godfather game.

You’ll follow the story of Michael Corleone, the new Don of New York, and you’ll have to use your cunning and influence to expand your monopoly, GTA style, mobilising illegal crime rings and taking down new families undermining your authority as the Don.

The game has a new strategy meta-game which allows players an overall view of their world and how it’s expanding.  You’ll also be responsible for hiring all the hands that make your mob the one to beat, from hiring crew to promoting the best men. . “We found the hierarchical culture of organised crime intriguing. Running an organised crime family in a world defined by family loyalty is something that we felt could introduce a new strategic element to the genre. That is what the Don’s View is all about -- laying out a strategy to pick off the competition one by one. The Don’s View is so unique, it could fundamentally change the rules of open-world games by blending action and strategy to create something entirely new.” Said Hunter Smith, executive producer.

Set in the 60’s, the game will be a pretty hardcore sandbox environment for players that find themselves taking control of the family’s mob.
“In the 1960’s, a mafia Don was only as strong as his family,” Smith continues.
