Ubisoft has filed a lawsuit against the company responsible for reproducing copies of Assassin's Creed for the PC.
The publisher accuses the North Carolina-based Optical Experts Manufacturing (OEM) of an "extraordinary breach of trust and gross negligence" in allowing one of its employees to take a copy of the PC version of the game home six weeks before the game's release.
The game then appeared on the internet for illegal download and, according to Ubisoft, was traced to the OEM employee's residence. Ubisoft claim OEM did not adhere to agreed security procedures which specified the game was not to leave the manufacturer's premises.
Ubisoft is suing OEM for copyright infringement, breach of trust and negligence.
