Hendrix Coming to Guitar Hero

The Hendrix estate has confirmed that a number of Jimi Hendrix originals will be making an appearance in Guitar Hero.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, Janie Hendrix said various Jimi songs - including 'Purple Haze', 'Foxy Lady' and 'Little Wing' - have been delivered to Activision. There has been no confirmation from Activision or Red Octane as to which tracks will appear in the game. It is also unclear whether the Hendrix tracks will make it into the next version of Guitar Hero, World Tour, which is due for release in October.

The Hendrix estate has also authorised an official Hendrix avatar to appear in the game. "Jimi was a kid at heart," said Janie Hendrix. "He definitely would have played these games."
