Rockstar founder, Sam Houser has caused a stir among ‘Grand Theft Auto’ fans, saying that an online version of the game is “very, very doable”.
While Sony and Microsoft squabble over who’s got the most online content in the upcoming ‘GTA4’, nothing could compare to the opportunity to take Liberty City into the realms of the MMO.
Speaking to EGM magazine, Houser said that an MMO version of ‘GTA’ “is a very compelling proposition” and describes a subscription-based online title as “the Holy Grail”.
However, Houser knows it not as easy as all that and acknowledges some issues with translating the current style of play into a persistent world.
Surely ‘GTA’ online would be the ‘WoW’ beater we’ve all been waiting for. We’re officially excited and hoping Rockstar choose the Vice City setting, so we can polish our medallions in readiness.
