Activision’s Kotick made the comments at the Morgan Stanley Technology Conference, but since then his comments have been rectified by the game’s community manager on the US ‘WoW’ forum.
"We have no plans to have in-game advertising in StarCraft II. We believe Bobby was actually referring to Battle.net, which has always included ads."
‘StarCraft II’ has been extremely successful, to the extent of tournaments showing on TV in South Korea, so the in-games ads would have been a logical step forward.
