The Canadian Awards for the Electronic and Animated Arts (usually known as the punchier Elans) took place this weekend and ‘Mass Effect’ swept the board with five awards.
Winning Best Game, Best Art Direction, Best Game Design and Best Writing for a Game Production, Bioware took top honours for its sci-fi adventure. The game also took Best Character in Videogaming for the creation of Commander Shepard, securing his place in the gaming hall of fame.
‘Assassin’s Creed’ won Best Console Game and Best Original Music Score, courtesy of Jesper Kyd. EA’s ‘Skate’ also took home a couple of awards.
The Elans were created to recognise achievement in videogames and the animated arts for companies based in Canada – hence no ‘Mario Galaxy’, in case you were wondering.
