Rockstar boss, Dan Houser, has spoken out, denying reports that it was close to tying up a deal to make a ‘Grand Theft Auto’ movie.
Variety magazine sparked rumours of a 'GTA' movie deal virtually signed, sealed and delivered last year. Eminem was said to be a possible star and the deal, allegedly fell through at the last minute, after Take-Two couldn’t come to an agreement with the studio.
Rockstar president, Houser dismissed the reports, saying “we never entertained proceeding with the project”, which was “no more interesting than the numerous others we receive.”
Speaking to MTV, House said, “Some movie producers were trying to put something together to entice us to make a movie, as studios and production teams frequently have done in the past.
“Rockstar was not involved in this project in any way, shape or form. It is not something we are currently interested in.”
With such a hot property in its midst, it’s no wonder Rockstar is reluctant to let Hollywood screw it up.
