The NDP Group, Chart Track and The GFK Group have all recorded sales of over seven million units worldwide, making the game one of the most successful sequels ever.

This follows a string of accolades over the last few weeks, what with ‘COD4’ knocking ‘Halo3’ off the top spot on Xbox Live and being nominated for ten awards at the Interactive Achievement Awards.

Will Kassoy, Senior Vice President of the global brand management at Activision has said that the game is “one of the best ever created,” establishing “new standards” by which future FPS’s will be judged.
