THQ Drops Juiced & Stuntman

The latest THQ financials reveal that they have now dropped the Juiced and Stuntman franchises saying that they were not happy with the quality of the franchises, despite pumping a whole load of cash into T.V. advertising for Juiced here in the UK.

Also canned is Frontlines: Fuel of War for the PS3 and the PS2 version of Destroy All Humans!: Big Willy Unleashed. Two unnannounced titles for the 360 and PS3 have also bit the dust and they've closed their Concrete Games studio. Looks like there's been quite a shake-up. Brian Farrell, president and CEO of THQ added

In October, we announced certain product quality initiatives, including personnel and structural changes in product development and a more rigorous internal and external product evaluation and feedback process. Consistent with these initiatives, we have taken actions to strengthen our pipeline and position ourselves to compete aggressively with compelling, high quality games.

Are pubclishers finally waking up to the fact that gamers want decent games and the mass produced crap? We certainly hope so, it's about time the dross was kept well away from the shop shelves.
