Capcom has announced a collector’s edition of Devil May Cry 4 and will be releasing 100 signed copies of the game for retail in the US.
This sounds like one of the few collector’s editions that might actually live up to its name. Frankly the usual poster size map and crappy figurine does not a collectible make. However, Capcom is offering fans volume one of the DMC anime, as well as a making of video, digital art book and music soundtrack, all in the ubiquitous tin.
When the Capcom team heard the fans weren’t particularly thrilled with the package, they went one further. Producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi has personally signed 100 copies of the PS3 and Xbox 360 Collector’s Edition. These will be randomly distributed across US retailers, making it a lucky dip for already fevered fans.
We’ll be keeping our eyes on eBay to see just how much these babies will go for after release. Cynical? Us?
