A new futuristic racer is coming to the Playstation 2 early next year, Iridium Runners from Italian development studio Playstos Entertainment.

The game is set in the year of 2050 where Iridium Championship athletic on-foot races are sponsored by mega-corporations. As you'd expect being the quickest racer is not always the best way to win, players will utilise power-ups as well as weapons to secure victory.

Several game modes will be available, from full championship races to single races as well as the option to go splt-screen in multiplayer mode which also features AI controlled racers in the game's team mode. The team mode features two teams of two players going head to head.

Iridium Runners is due for release next February.
