Warmonger, Operation: Downtown Destruction Dated

NetDevil's next foray into the MMO market is their new online shooter title Warmonger, Operation: Downtown Destruction and it will be free to digitally download next month from October 16th.

With the holiday season coming up, there's going to be tough competition to capture the attention of gamers and NetDevil are really stressing the game physics in Warmonger which is powered by Ageia PhysX. So destructible objects and scenery are the order of the day with this game, giving players more tactical options such blowing up staircases to block access and destroying objects that could be used for cover.

So what else has it got going for it? Well it Unreal Engine 3 powered so there is really no excuse for it looking rough in the graphics department.

“First person shooter environments have remained largely static for years. AGEIA PhysX has changed all that, and changed it profoundly,” said Scott Brown, president of NetDevil. “New rigid body technology and procedural destruction of game environments set the stage for dynamic content creation that will literally transform the way people think and play.”

"We’re pleased to see what a forward thinking game developer can accomplish with our card. By incorporating PhysX, NetDevil brought to life some of the most compelling game experiences ever seen in a game,” said Manju Hegde, CEO of AGEIA. “Warmonger’s real-world, real-time properties offer gamers a whole new dimension in gameplay they can enjoy over and over again. They will have a blast discovering new terrains, sniper positions, and other game elements they’ve never had a chance to try out before.”

It's free, it's downloadable and it could be a lot of fun. Let's hope NetDevil have shaken off their Auto Assault period and turn this into a decent game. Auto Assault really wasn't very good, hence the reason it's now closed down.
