There has been some debate on how Flagship Studios would handle the pricing structure for their action RPG Hellgate: London. Making sure they keep everyone happy, two pricing structures have been revealed, one for subscribers and another which is decsribed as just standard.
As originally planned, Hellgate: London will be completly free to play once you have purchased the game, this is the 'standard' way to play. This does gives players the ability to play co-op as well as trade items, join guilds, voice chat and a host of other features,
If you're feeling flush and want the full deal, the subscirber package comes in at €9.99 / £6.99 per month. This gives ongoing content updates including new character classes, areas, monsters, items and raid content, new game modes (including Hardcore, Role-Play and PvP mode), and additional character and stash slots. Subscribers can found guilds, select to nominate an officer and will have access to guild and player housing. Other features include in-game email for items, web access to characters and a place in future beta lotteries.
Overall this is an interesting idea and I hope it works out for Flagship, it's giving gamers the option to pay without crippling the game experience for those who can't.
Hellgate: London will be released in Europe on November 2nd.
