Mirror's Edge 2D Beta Goes Live
 Tim McDonald

The site for Mirror's Edge 2D, an official Flash-based spin-off of last year's best first-person platformer, has gone live.

Made by Borne Games with the backing of Electronic Arts, the game turns Faith's adventures into a completely free side-scrolling platformer which you can play here.

It's three levels long and shouldn't take much longer than ten minutes to run through, but features the ghosts and time trials from the full game and a lot of collectables, adding in replayability.

With the feeling of speed, multiple paths through levels, and acrobatics on display, we think it's reminiscent of the Sonic games of old - in a good way. We're looking forward to seeing what's added as the beta moves along.

If you're a fan of Mirror's Edge, don't forget that the Time Trial DLC pack was released earlier this week.
