As Pharaoh, you must design and build glorious cities in which hundreds of seemingly real people live, in your quest to become a supreme and god-like ruler. The first in a new generation of 'god games,' Children of the Nile is as much about balancing the needs of individuals within the society as it is about strategic placement of buildings, a true leap forward for this genre. The advanced 3D engine allows the player to switch from a bird's eye view to street level to watch the populace go about their daily tasks, demonstrating incredibly detailed AI. Gaining prestige and respect is of paramount importance, the risk of a public revolt could ultimately lead to the fall of your dynasty.
