Peter Molyneux has been promoted to the lofty position of Microsoft Games Studios' European creative director.
This new role is in conjunction with his responsibilities as studio boss at Lionhead, and he'll carry on working there, but now he's "overseeing all of the creative work that goes on at [Microsoft's] studios in the UK and Europe, and the different projects that [it] has with external partners," according to Phil Spencer, the general manager of Microsoft Game Studios, speaking to gamesindustry.biz.
Molyneux confirms that it's not about having other studios make his ideas - "What you're not going to see is ten Peter Molyneux games," says the man himself. "The value of this role is for someone like myself going in and making those little tiny lights of an idea shine as brightly as possible and ensuring everybody within the organisation clearly understands why we're making those titles, the purpose of those titles and their importance to Microsoft overall.
"All I'm going to be doing is making sure those lights are as bright as possible."
