Portal is a first-person action-puzzle game in which players traverse dangerous test chambers with the aid of a portal gun, which can transport them from one flat surface to another. Since release it has become a huge hit, in part because of clever game mechanics, superb writing, and a fantastic sense of humour, and also because of the success of the in-game Weighted Companion Cube and the Jonathan Coulton credits song "Still Alive."
