Speaking to the AP, Will Wright, creator of Spore and The Sims, said he was  impressed with the efforts of those making their creatures as realistic as possible.

"Some of it's really good for what they were shooting for. It's amazingly explicit, especially when those creations are animated. We just have to make sure those people aren't messing up the experience for others."

The game will be out in just over a week and already it’s gained acclaim for its gameplay as well as its variety of game play modes, making decisions for your creature the whole way through.  These decisions impact the way the rest of the game plays out, and consequences are something that drive the game.

“When the game initialises the relationships of other creatures or tribes or civilizations for the next level, many of those relationships have to do with how aggressive those creatures perceive you to be." Said Wright.

Wright isn’t about to start making editorial decisions on what can and can’t be posted online, "When you give players creative control, you have to expect they're going to do the unexpected," he continued.

Wright has also said that consoles weren’t completely disregarded. "Spore on almost any platform is going to be different and tied to the unique aspects of that platform,"
"Sitting in front of a console is very different from sitting in front of a PC. Whether you're using a mouse or a PS3 controller or a Wii wand, that right off the bat is arguing for a somewhat different design."

Spore will be out for PC and Mac on September 7 with a DS version and a mobile phone version being released on the same day.
