On November 30th 2009 Ubisoft announced a new game in the series, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. The game will return to the storyline seen in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and is in development for unspecified consoles and handhelds. It will be released in May 2010 alongside Disney's Sands of Time movie
