As from November 18 BSkyB, STAR, and DIRECTV, have ended their business with the Los Angeles based Championship Gaming Series.
Originally conceived in 2007, CGS featured some of the world's best pro gamersbroadcast to more than 100 million households in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia.
"While the concept was ahead of it's time and we are extremely proud of what we've accomplished, it became increasingly clear as this ambitious project evolved, that profitability was too far in the future for us to sustain operations in the interim," CGS said in a statement.
CGS brought PC and console gamers alike to compete in Dead or Alive 4, Counter-Strike: Source, Forza 2, FIFA 08 and most recently World of Warcraft.
CGS also added "BSKYB, STAR, and DIRECTV, continue to be committed to the video games sector, which is an important part of many of our customers' lives and a great source of entertainment."
