Welcome to the Kingdom of Argus, an island of the Roman Empire found in a landlocked sea. Having distinguished himself in a naval battle, the warrior named Rygar was presented with a crown by the King of Argus's daughter, Princess Harmonia.

Suddenly, a horde of fierce monsters brutally interrupted the ceremony. After massacring the guards, the monsters cast Rygar into a chasm and kidnapped the Princess.

As he lay at the bottom of the chasm, a mysterious voice brought the warrior back to his senses. It was then that he received the Diskarmor, a powerful fighting shield forged by the gods.

Rygar raised himself up, the Diskarmor in hand, and swore to exact revenge on these creatures of the shadows known as the 'Titans'.

A legendary hero, a princess in need of rescue, hordes of enemies straight out of Greek mythology (cyclops, minotaurs, chimera, etc.), a weapon with unprecedented magic powers... these are the main ingredients in this latest epic odyssey.

The Diskarmor, a multipurpose weapon

Rygar's weapon is a powerful shield which has over 50 different actions and which can be upgraded over the course of the adventure by collecting magic stones. From simple attacks to elaborate combos, from defensive moves to the grappling hook for climbing up cliffs, the Diskarmor is an essential weapon for taking on enemies and hacking a path through the game's partially destructible environments. It allows Rygar to reduce obstacles such as boulders, stone columns or statues to rubble.

There are three types of Diskarmor. Each one has its own characteristics and combo attacks. Each type of Diskarmor also carries an invocation to a specific divinity. By invoking this divinity, Rygar can inflict extra damage on his enemies.

The Hades Diskarmor
This shield has a long range and can, for example, send enemies spinning through the air. Its magic unleashes the Cerberus, the dog guarding the entrance to Hades, which sets fire to Rygar's enemies.

The Celestial Diskarmor
This is effective over a wide radius. Rygar can strike several enemies in one move by sweeping it along the ground. He can also call up the god Taros to strike down his enemies with powerful bolts of lightning.

The Sea Diskarmor
This shield can be used to link attacks together quickly in hand-to-hand combat. It contains the Siren spell which can be used to freeze Rygar's enemies.

Rygar also has his own special abilities which he acquires as players progress through the game: he can slide, trample enemies, move objects, etc.
Over the course of the adventure, players can save their game by passing through save points represented by sculptures of lions' heads.

Complete immersion in Ancient Greece

The developers have succeeded in creating a world bathed in mythology by using many ingredients from Greek and Roman mythology and from epic films (chimera, kidnapped princesses, lyrical symphonic scores, temples and coliseums, capricious gods, etc.).

Over 7 worlds have been modelled (the Elysian sanctuary on Mount Geryon, the Colosseum, etc.), giving players a vast universe to explore. This is also a world in which a large part of the background is destructible, revealing bonuses of all sorts in the process (magic stones, secret rooms, etc.)

As for the graphics, the camera can zoom out to give an overview of the wealth of detail in each level. It can equally zoom in on Rygar during the game's intense battles to give a better view of his attack moves. The shots provided by the fixed cameras are worthy of large scale movie productions.

Particular care has been taken to ensure that the music is suitably lyric. The score is performed by the Moscow Symphony Orchestra with the participation of a rising young English star of classic music called Izzy.
