Hot Western Mods Page 3

Deadwood

http://www.eastwestmod.com/

Half-Life 2 is clearly the way to go when it comes to Wild West mods, as we have another here that puts the popular engine to the sounds of a duelling banjo, the rattle of spurs against a leather booted heel and smooth hammer click of a Winchester rifle.

Deadwood, unfortunately, isn’t really based on the gritty TV series of the same name, though that’s probably no bad thing in the long run. After all, Lovejoy’s frontier town wasn’t actually all that replete with gunfire and action, which is what we really want from a hot Western mod.

This depiction of Deadwood has plenty of shoot outs for you to get in on, which you’ll find going on in some impressive locations such as a mining concern, ghost towns and even a steamer trundling up the river.

It also pushes the Western theme on a few years, so the weaponry can remain accurate (Colt, Whinchester, Stallion, Gatling and famous firearms others are put to good use), yet also features FPS friendly items like cartridge loaded guns, and the beginnings of electricity. There’s also six different game modes currently included, although we’re promised that things are moving ahead at a rate of knots now the team has a new coder.
