Read about a Christian MMO, MMO divorce and more...page 2

Hellgate LondonQuakers, if you're not already familiar, are a peace loving bunch. They're pacifists, they're devoted Christians, and they mostly live in Pennsylvania. Nowadays, they're developing their own MMO, World of Peacecraft. WoP is “full of fun quests and adventures, [and] will extend traditional Quaker values and historic testimonies -- such as their work to end the slave trade, protesting against war, and worshipping in silence -- into an immersive, 3D environment.” We're predicting that the game will be a huge success, especially if players can role play pacifistic dwarfs, elves, and orcs.

Do you enjoy competitive WoW? Arenas and battlegrounds are increasingly popular, with professional gamers competing for fun and some serious prize money. What happens when these highly-charged gamers lose? Why, they melt down, of course! And we have video proof right here.

What if the presidential race were a D&D campaign? It'd be weird and epic. Of course, Ron Paul would have to be the eccentric role-player, wouldn't he?

Have you heard the story of the Japanese lady, facing a divorce, who murdered her virtual husband? Well it's true. It seems that 43 year old woman had married her 33 year old paramour in the super-cute MMO Maple Story. The problem with these in-game marriages is that they rarely last, and people can get divorced any time they like. When the husband suddenly divorced his in-game wife (they've never met in real life) she stewed angrily for several months. Then she logged in to her ex-hubby's account, deleting his characters forever.

Even though it was only a virtual murder, the ex-wife is still being charged with a series of computer-related crimes.

IWarhammer Online Age of Reckoningn a very quirky move, the guys at Mythic decided that Warhammer Online wasn't violent enough. They decided to rectify this problem by offering bonus experience to anyone that kills an enemy player in open RvR. Nice, huh?

Let's conclude this week's MMO Weekly with our rapid-fire round, shall we? Here's five stories, all dressed up short and sweet:

1. Would you like to see the world's freakiest gnome as an enraged mini-Hulk? What if he were dressed up like Hillary Clinton? Yeah, you'd have to check that out.

2. What if I told you that E3 was now fixed? Would you believe me? (It's ok, no one else is falling for it either.)

3. Would you be interested in the story of two Dutch boys, who robbed and beat another boy, forcing him to trade them virtual goods in Runescape?

4. You probably already love Mila Kunis. She is super-cute, and she stars in Max Payne. If I told you that Mila loves WoW, would it make you love her even more?

5. How about a story about Jack Thompson? He's ranting again, complaining about a conspiracy between gaming companies, bloggers, and various others have brought him down. Jack is vowing revenge, however, and has filed a picture-book with the courts to prove he's been wronged.

OK, OK, that's all for this week, friends. As always, if you're looking for the very latest in MMO news, always served up with a nice thick slice of humor, come and visit us over at WanderingGoblin.com. We've got that on tap every single day. For now, ciao!
