Runes Of Magic Chapter II Announced

Frogster has announced at E3 that Chapter II of Runes of Magic, the highly popular free to play MMORPG, introducing a new race, new classes, new content, a pet system, a graphics overhaul and raising the level cap.

'The Elven Prophecy' will launch in September, and will introduce Elves as a playable race with two new classes. Up until now Humans have been the only choice. Lots of lore will be brought into the game by means of a background story for the Elves.

A new region and many quests will await RoM players who log on after the update. Frogster will also introduce new dungeons, raid instances and new PvP modes and the level cap will be raised to level 55. A new pet system has been designed, which will allow players to obtain and train their companions to fulfil various supporting roles in combat.

In addition to all this, the graphics will be getting an overhaul. The new regions will “shine” due to the improved graphics with new effects and hand-drawn textures. Finally, the sound studio Dynamedion is recording a completely new soundtrack for Chapter II.

In the mean time, players can look forward to the level cap raising to level 52 in August when the first of the Elven Prophecy content packages goes live. The Weeping Coast will be the first region to be added to RoM as part of the update.

“With the comprehensive Chapter II we will seamlessly linking in with our previous policy of regular content expansions for the Runes of Magic game world. And we will still be implementing regular content updates right up until we launch The Elven Prophecy,”  said Daniel Ullrich, Frogster’s director of product management.
